Tyson and Quinn's Corner

Welcome

This is our life with our little man, born May 2009 and our sweet daughter, born May 2011.

Quinn is 13 Months

Age:  13 months and a few days.

Weight: My guess is right around 20 lbs.

Height: Somewhere right under 30 inches.

Size: No change. Size 3 diapers, 6-12m clothes, still some 9m stuff, some 12m, can still wear 6m onesies. She wears either a size 2 or 3 shoe (since we're wearing shoes more regularly now!) depending on the brand, and her hats need to be 18-24m to accomodate her huge noggin.  :)

Hair: Longer, getting kind of scraggly and uneven in spots.  I still think she needs a cut to shape up her pixie, but I'm not ready to do it yet.

Teeth: 8!   The top 4 middle, bottom 2 middle and 2 upper first year molars.

We're pretty sure she's working on some more because she's been a bit cranky, has had a perpetual runny nose, drooly and reaching for things to chew on.  The top two molars popped through without causing too much stress for her so we were quite surprised to see them.

Sleeping: Great!  Goes down for the night somewhere between 7 and 8pm and wakes for the day between 6:30 and 7:30am.  We thought she was dropping her morning nap, but in the last week, she's needed it again.  Probably those new teeth!  So she's anywhere from 1-2 naps per day.

Eating: She's completely on soy milk and her eating has started to take a bit of a turn.  We used to be able to count on her to eat anything and everything and in pretty large quantities for such a small girl.  Now, she's much more selective on what she eats and doesn't seem to be eating as much at every meal.

Movement: Big changes here!  She's taken her first unassisted steps :)  She's starting to walk unassisted about 25% of the time.  The rest of the time, she'll either cruise with furniture or holding hands or crawl quite fast.

She's an absolute daredevil.  The girl will climb on anything and everything.  She frequently climbs up Tyson's little table in the kitchen and stands up on top of the table. She even climbed up the slide in our backyard last night.  By herself.  All the way to the top.  :Lord, help me:

She's also getting pretty good at standing up from a seated position on the floor without pulling up on anything.  For whatever reason, I thought that was a much later skill for toddlers.

Milestones:  Done with formula, walking, more teeth.

Favorite toys/activities: Climbing, Tyson, brushing her teeth, exploring on her own.

Dislikes: Being hungry or tired, Tyson taking his toys away from her.

Words: Hi, Mommy and Daddy (both clearly enunciated).  Lots of other "words".  I think she says "ma", meaning milk and loads of other random babble and grunts.  Love the grunting.  :)
